It's really really really hard to put this into words. It's even harder to draw a picture or some shit so I'm just gonna put it into words in a terrible way and you're gonna have to keep up.

So fictional characters. What the fuck are they? A miserable little pile of secrets.

For real man. I mean... they don't *EXIST*. They're mass hallucinations of our collective consciousness. A subjective disjointed set of traits. Things we just all believe is real and that communal belief gives it a consistency. The consistency is the only thing thats real.

Let's take like. Mario. Picture Super Mario. We're all thinking of that same fking new york plumber, wee'r all seeing that fat little italian ass.

There is no Super Mario. There's is not one being named Super Mario there's just a lot of things a lot collections of words and colors that we agree are all the same Super Mario.

And we're SO SPECIFIC about that Super Mario that if like, I draw him and make his hair the wrong color. Or I write about him and describe him as like a buff hunk with four arms? That's not Super Mario anymore. The dude doesn't exist in that entire work because he's just too far from the zeitgeist definition of Super Mario.

But if thats the case. Then. A fictional character DOES have an inherent existence. Like. We can look at a thing and say for certain That Is The Real Mario! And we all agree.

What more is a human than an agreed consistent being??

I can't prove my consciousness to you, but I can prove the agreed existence of Super Mario in Super Mario Brothers.

My existence is less proveable than Super Mario.

Or say, Vriska.

Vriska exists.
